I began working with NEST when it was a brand new entrant into a market full of big, established players. It needed to offer something different, so I was there to drive home the need for plain language, aimed at an audience largely new to workplace pension schemes.
I wrote the website from the initial briefs and managed feedback through to publication. I also wrote welcome packs, handbooks, annual reports, the corporate plan and plain language guides as well as speeches and presentations for senior figures in the organisation, including the CEO.
I spent lots of time working with multiple stakeholders including the in-house legal team and external legal advisers from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). I also worked with focus groups to develop guidelines and tone of voice for three distinct audiences.
